Privacy Policy for Auto Refresh EXtra

Auto Refresh EXtra is a Chrome extension that automatically refreshes user-selected tabs and detects page changes, specified text, missing text, captchas, rate limits, and other configured conditions.
This Privacy Policy explains how the extension handles information. Auto Refresh EXtra is designed to operate locally within the user’s browser.
The developer does not collect, receive, transmit, sell, or share personal information, browsing activity, or website content.
To provide its features, the extension locally processes:
Visible text and form-field content on an enabled webpage.
The URL, title, and hostname of enabled tabs.
Text entered by the user for text detection.
Refresh intervals, presets, notification preferences, and other extension settings.
Temporary page-text baselines used to detect changes after a refresh.
Temporary scroll-position information used for scroll restoration.
This information is processed only within the user’s browser and is not transmitted to the developer or an external server.
Auto Refresh EXtra uses Chrome’s local storage to save:
User-created presets.
Refresh intervals and ranges.
Detection settings.
Notification and sound preferences.
Timer display preferences.
The last selected profile and other extension preferences.
Temporary information about active refresh timers, including tab titles and URLs, is stored in Chrome’s session storage. Temporary monitoring information may also be stored in the enabled tab’s session storage so monitoring can continue across same-site reloads.
Saved settings remain on the user’s device until they are reset, deleted, the extension’s data is cleared, or the extension is uninstalled. Temporary session information is removed when monitoring is disabled or the relevant browser session ends.
Auto Refresh EXtra uses Chrome’s activeTab permission. This provides temporary access only after the user explicitly enables the extension on the current tab or invokes its configured keyboard shortcut.
The extension does not request permanent access to every website. Access is limited to the enabled tab and is removed when the tab navigates to a different website or is closed.
Website access is used only to:
Refresh the enabled page.
Display the on-page countdown.
Detect meaningful page changes.
Search for user-specified text.
Detect missing text.
Detect likely captchas, verification pages, and rate-limit errors.
Restore the previous scroll position.
Detect user interaction when that option is enabled.
Auto Refresh EXtra cannot run on Chrome-protected pages such as chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store.
Auto Refresh EXtra uses the following Chrome permissions:
activeTab: Provides temporary access to the current tab after an explicit user action.
scripting: Loads the extension’s local monitoring script into an explicitly enabled tab.
storage: Saves settings, presets, and temporary active-timer information locally.
notifications: Displays optional Chrome or Windows notifications when a configured detection condition occurs.
power: Optionally prevents the system from sleeping while an active refresh timer is running.
The extension does not use remote code. All executable code and notification sounds are included in the installed extension package.
When system notifications are enabled, Auto Refresh EXtra sends a general detection message through Chrome’s notification system, such as:
Page change detected.
Text found.
Text missing.
Captcha or error detected.
These notifications are generated locally. The watched text and full website content are not included in system notifications.
Auto Refresh EXtra does not include analytics, advertising, tracking, telemetry, or third-party data-collection services.
The extension contains an optional PayPal donation link. PayPal is opened only when the user explicitly clicks the donation button. Any information processed after visiting PayPal is governed by PayPal’s own privacy practices and is outside the operation of Auto Refresh EXtra.
Auto Refresh EXtra does not:
Sell user data.
Share user data with advertisers or data brokers.
Transfer website content to the developer.
Use data for personalized advertising.
Use data for creditworthiness or lending purposes.
Allow the developer or other people to read monitored website content.
All extension processing and storage take place locally within Chrome using browser-provided APIs and storage mechanisms. Auto Refresh EXtra does not operate an external server and does not transmit monitored content over the internet.
Users can stop monitoring a tab at any time using the extension’s Disable button or the cancel button in the active-timers section.
Users can delete locally stored information by:
Deleting individual presets.
Using the Reset Settings button.
Clearing the extension’s data through Chrome.
Uninstalling Auto Refresh EXtra.
Auto Refresh EXtra does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users. No user information is transmitted to the developer.
Auto Refresh EXtra’s use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Information accessed through Chrome permissions is used only to provide the extension’s user-facing page-refreshing, monitoring, detection, notification, and configuration features.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Auto Refresh EXtra’s features, permissions, or legal requirements change. Updates will be published at the same Privacy Policy URL with a revised “Last updated” date.
